About Golden Bean Coffee
Brewing community, one cup at a time in Midtown Manhattan. Learn our story, meet the people behind the bar, and see how we source, roast, and serve coffee with care.
Our mission
We exist to make specialty coffee approachable and sustainable for everyone. From ethically traded beans to inclusive hospitality, every decision is made to uplift growers, delight guests, and brighten our block.
- Serve consistently delicious drinks and fresh pastries.
- Source transparently and pay farmers fairly.
- Create a welcoming third place for work, rest, and connection.
Our story
Golden Bean Coffee began with a pop-up espresso cart and a big dream: great coffee without the attitude. Today, our café on West 34th Street is a cozy home for neighbors, commuters, and travelers alike.
- 2019 — The spark: Weekend pop-ups, local markets, and our first loyal regulars.
- 2021 — The doors open: We brewed our first shots in the New York café you know today.
- Now — Community first: Classes, cuppings, art nights, and a lot of cappuccinos.
Sourcing & sustainability
Exceptional coffee starts at origin. We partner with smallholder farms and trusted importers who share our commitment to quality and stewardship.
- Traceable origins
- Single-origin offerings with farm or cooperative details listed on our menu.
- Better for the planet
- Compostable takeaway ware, paper-only straws, and energy-efficient equipment.
- Less waste
- Day-end pastry donations and a grounds-for-gardens program for local planters.
